INFLUENCE OF MICROSPHERES ON PROPERTIES OF AGGRESSIVE RESISTANT RUBBERS

The aim of the work is to study the effect of hollow corundum, glass and pomegranate ceramic microspheres on the rheometric characteristics of aggressive resistant rubber mixtures and the physicomechanical parameters of their vulcanizates to determine of the content of fillers of this type, which provides an improvement in the priority properties of products and, as a result, an increase in their durability. The objects of research were two rubber mixtures intended for compression molding and injection molding. The compression molding mixture is based on a combination of nitrile butadiene, isoprene and butadiene-a-methyl styrene caoutchoucs with colloidal silicic acids as the main fillers. And the injection molding mixture is based on a combination of synthetic isoprene and butadiene rubbers filled with chalk, P234 carbon black and carbon 100. We used hollow corundum (HMC-L), glass (MS-V), and pomegranate ceramic (MVMD-170) microspheres. The rheometric properties of the rubber compounds were evaluated by the values of the minimum and maximum torques, the duration of the induction period, the time to reach the technological optimum, and the maximum vulcanization rate. When testing vulcanizates, conditional tensile strength, elongation at break, tear resistance, hardness, abrasion and rebound elasticity were determined. Priority indicators were also determined that correlated to the greatest extent with the durability of the products during operation – relative changes in conditional tensile strength and elongation at break, hardness after heat aging in air and standard liquid SZhR-1, change in mass of samples after swelling in industrial oil I-20A and Nefras S-80/120. For a mixture for compression molding, the effect of the type of microspheres introduced at a dosage of 5 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass caoutchoucs, on the properties of unvulcanized mixtures and vulcanizates was studied. It was found that the rubber mixture with glass microspheres is somewhat below in vulcanization activity, and its vulcanizate in terms of abrasion resistance, heat aging, especially in air, is inferior to two mixtures and rubbers with corundum and pomegranate microspheres. In the second mixture, we tested corundum microspheres with a dosage of 3.0 to 7.0 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of caoutchoucs while reducing by the appropriate amount of carbon black. It was found that with an increase in the dosage of microspheres, a decrease in the vulcanization activity of the mixture, minimum and maximum torques, and also their difference is observed, which indicates a slight decrease in the degree of crosslinking of rubbers. The consequence is an increase in relative lengthening of the vulcanizates. To the least extent, this effect manifests itself with the introduction of corundum microspheres in a dosage of 3 parts by mass. Thus, the advantage of rubbers with microspheres is reduced abrasion, higher tear resistance while maintaining resistance to the action of physically and chemically aggressive environments at the level of rubbers that do not contain microspheres.

Structure and Oxidation of Pyrrole Adducts Formed between Aflatoxin B-2a and Biological Amines

Aflatoxin B-2a has been shown to bind to proteins-through a dialdehyde intermediate under physiological conditions. The proposed structure of this adduct has been published showing a Schiff base interaction, but adequate Verification using-structural elucidation instrumental techniques has not been performed. In this work, we synthesized the aflatoxin B-2a amino acid adduct under alkaline conditions, and the formation of a new product was determined using high performance liquid chromatography-time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The resulting accurate mass was used to generate a novel proposed chemical structure of the adduct in which the dialdehyde forms a pyrrole ring with primary amines rather than the previously proposed Schiff base interaction. The pyrrole structure was confirmed, using H-1, C-13, correlation spectroscopy, heteronuclear single quantum correlation, and heteronuclear multiple bond correlation NMR and tandem mass spectrometry. Reaction kinetics show that the reaction is overall second order and that the rate increases as pH increases Additionally, this study shows for the first time that aflatoxin B-2a, dialdehyde forms adducts with phosphatidylethanolamines and does so through pyrrole ring formation, which makes it the first aflatoxin-lipid adduct to be structurally identified. Furthermore, oxidation: of the pyrrole adduct produced a product that was 16 m/z heavier. When the aflatoxin. B-2a-lysine (epsilon) adduct was oxidized; it gave a product with an accurate mass, mass fragmentation pattern, and H-1 NMR spectrum that match aflatoxin B-1-lysine, which suggest the transformation of the pyrrole ring to a pyrrolin-2-one ring. These data give new insight into the fate and chemical properties of biological adducts formed from aflatoxin B-2a as well as possible interferences with known aflatoxin B-1 exposure biomarkers.

Ethanol amine functionalized electrospun nanofibers membrane for the treatment of dyes polluted wastewater

This study investigated adsorption kinetics, adsorption equilibrium, and adsorption isotherm of three dyes [i.e., methylene blue (MB), rhodamine-B (RB), and safranin T (ST)] onto polyacrylonitrile (PAN) and ethanolamine (EA) grafted PAN nanofibers (NFs) membranes (EA-g-PAN). The membranes were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET). FE-SEM showed a smooth morphology for the NFs before and after grafting, while FT-IR confirmed EA grafting into the nitrile group of PAN. The grafting percentage with no change in the physical nature of the membrane was 12.18%. The nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms for PAN and EA-g-PAN NFs membranes were similar and classified as a Type IV according to the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry. The surface area, pore-volume, and pore size of the EA-g-PAN increased to 21.36 m(2) g(-1), 0.16 cm(3) g(-1), and 304.93 angstrom, respectively. The pores were cylindrical mesopores with bimodal openings, which means that pores were open at both ends. The adsorption of the MB, RB, and ST dyes onto the PAN and EA-g-PAN NFs membranes leveled off at similar to 60 min. The adsorption kinetics showed good fitting to pseudo-second-order kinetic model and multi-step diffusion process. The order of the dye adsorption was PAN < EA-g-PAN. The data were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich models. The correlation coefficient (r(2)) for Langmuir ranged from 0.940 to 0.995, whereas that for Freundlich ranged from 0.941 to 0.998. After adsorption, FTIR only showed hydrogen bonding between the dyes and the membrane. The reusability experiments showed max desorption for MB (94%), RB (92%), and ST (85%). The EA-g-PAN NFs membrane showed potential for the removal of organic pollutants from the environment. Targeted development of hydrophilic porous polysulfonamide gels with catalytic activity

We report the use of a template and functional monomers in the synthesis of three novel polysulfonamide gels with new architectures and functional groups. These mesoporous polysulfonamide gels were prepared by the condensation polymerization of benzene-1,3-disulfonyl chloride (as the main precursor), linear monomers, and cross-linkers (as variable precursors) in the presence of a silica template by a combination of sol-gel chemistry and the nanocasting technique. In this synthesis pathway, in situ polymerization onto the template surface led to the construction of a silica/polymer nanocomposite. Next, after removal of the template, the nanocomposite gels were transformed into mesoporous polysulfonamide nanospheres. After the physicochemical identification of the synthesized materials, functionalized polysulfonamides were used as reusable novel catalysts with high efficiency for the Strecker reaction under mild conditions. These polymers have Brunsted/Lewis acid active sites, a mesoporous structure, and hydrogen bonding. Moreover, since these polymers are hydmgels that can absorb water, they can promote the Strecker reaction through chemical absorption of the generated water as a driving force. Overall, this article describes a novel synthesis procedure and application of porous polysulfonamide gels.

Application of analytical pyrolysis to gain insights into proteins of condensed corn distillers solubles from selective milling technology

Present study evaluates the analytical pyrolysis to unravel the pyrolysate compounds (PyCs), protein & glycosylation indicators in a protein fraction (PF) from condensed corn distillers solubles (CCDS) of novel selective milling technology. Besides, quadratic and linear corre-lations using protein content (%) by Dumas method, toluene signature PyC, and elemental nitrogen (%) were developed. Pyrolysis was performed at temperature of 400 degrees C, where most of the PyCs released from proteins in a lignin-free PF instead of other constituents. The p cresol and methyl 9,12-octadecadienoate were found with the highest area% of 3.2 and 19.3 in PF and CCDS, respectively. Protein derived PyCs such as nitrogen heterocyclics, amines & amides and nitriles were examined 63.93%, 61.90% and 70% greater in PF than CCDS. Moreover, the indicators of protein were toluene, p-cresol, phenol, phenylacetonitrile, 4vinylphenol, whereas that of glycosylated protein were methyl mercaptan, furan derivatives, and hexahydro-3-(phenylmethyl) pyrrolo [1, 2 a] pyrazine-1,4-dione. The absence of diketopiperazines provided evidence of crosslinking and aggregation of protein. The values of the protein content obtained from the quadratic model and Dumas method were found to be statistically non-significant (p < 0.05) imply the model validity. Insights on the Pseudo-Enantiomeric Properties of Bifunctional Cinchona Alkaloid Squaramide-Derived Organocatalyst

The use of pseudo enantiomers is a well-known method of achieving products of complementary stereochemistry. Only rarely can different enantiomers of a product be accessed without modulation of the catalyst. Recently, a system was reported wherein two different enantiomers of spirocycles were obtained by a cascade reaction of unsaturated pyrrolin-4-ones with mercaptoacetaldehyde catalyzed by a single optimized cinchona alkaloid squaramide-derived organocatalyst. It was originally proposed that the E/Z geometry of the unsaturated pyrrolin-4-one dictated the stereochemistry of the spirocycle product, but this was not investigated further. In the present work, we have investigated the nature of a pseudo-enantiomeric organocatalyst conformation applying density functional theory calculations for investigating the transition states for the reaction. Furthermore, the influence of the double-bond geometry of the pyrrolin-4-one has been studied beyond what is possible to test experimentally. The results provide a greater understanding for this class of reactions that may be applicable in future methodology development.
